Renée Aldana
B.A., LL.B.
Renée Aldana, BA, LLB, was born and raised in Ottawa, ON. She attended the University of Ottawa for both her undergraduate degree in Honours History (2001) and law school (2005). Renée was called to Bar in 2007 and now practices as Renée Aldana Personal Law Corporation in association with the other lawyers at South Coast Law Group. Renée has been accredited as a Family Law Mediator through the Law Society of British Columbia.
Renée practices primarily in the area of family law although also does related civil litigation work. Renée has experience in family law matters in the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court, and the Provincial Court of BC. She has had the opportunity to share her family law knowledge as a guest lecturer with the People's Law School, the Helping Spirit Lodge Society's annual conference, Continuing Legal Education (CLE), and Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia (TLABC). She is the Vice President of the Board for the Helping Spirit Lodge Society. She sits on the board for the Society for Youth Empowerment and Strength. She is a past elected member of Provincial Council of the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association and served on the executive of Westminster Family Law Subsection. Renée volunteers her time on a monthly basis with Access Pro Bono, providing free legal advice to low-income individuals and Independent Legal Advice through Access Pro Bono’s mediation project.
Renée loves to travel with her husband. They are occasionally joined by their adult son when his schedule allows. She is a health and fitness enthusiast. She is always up to try a new restaurant, cocktail, or bottle of wine.
Renée prides herself on assisting families in resolving their family law matters reasonably and amicably when possible and through the courts when necessary.
